BEAM Backpack

Beam backpack was created as the final product of a wearable tech class which I took during my senior year Wintersession at RISD. The backpack is designed for urban cyclists with Japanese retro futurism aesthetics. The piping of the front of the back lights up to create a seamless safety design feature.

Beam backpack is made with waterproof nylon canvas and with a waterproof nylon lining. The hardware was modeled in Rhino and 3D printed on a FormLabs2 printer. The backpack was then sewed on a Juki industrial sewing machine. The backpack was modeled by Iman Serag, a fellow industrial designer.
