Beam backpack was created as the final product of a wearable tech class. The backpack is designed for urban cyclists with Japanese retro futurism aesthetics. The piping of the front of the back lights up to create a seamless safety design feature.
Beam backpack is made with waterproof nylon canvas and with a waterproof nylon lining. The hardware was modeled in Rhino and 3D printed on a FormLabs2 printer. The backpack was then sewed on a Juki industrial sewing machine. The backpack was modeled by Iman Serag, a fellow industrial designer.
